Black Sands and the Harbour is our venue for the rest of the morning and afternoon, with a range of exciting events to appeal to all ages. Enjoy the stalls, the Festival Barbecue, street entertainment, and of course the Box Office so you can get last minute tickets for the rest of the week.

Followed by judging and prize giving

As ever, the Aberdour Baby & Toddler group organise this hugely popular event, and will be waiting to greet you at the registration desk on the promenade at the end of the parade route. This year the following categories will be contested: Sandcastles and Sand Sculptures (individuals); Sandcastles (groups) Children only; Sandcastles (groups) Children with adults; and Sand Sculptures (groups) with or without adults. Just remember you can only use what you find on the beach for decorations and metal spades aren’t allowed! This year’s theme is all things Olympic, so do your best…amaze us!

Be a part of one of the most spectacular events at the Festival, where brave souls come from far and wide to put to sea on the flimsiest of contraptions, for a shot at the fame that comes from being a Festival Raft Race winner! Last year the Polystyrene Pharaohs were unbeatable, but can you match their achievement? Prizes awarded to the winners, the best constructed raft, and the raft that best captures this year’s overarching theme. Aberdour Boat Club and the Harbour
Harbour events start at 11.30am
Clubhouse open during the morning and afternoon
After the Raft Race, events move along to the Boat Club and harbour, where children can take part in exciting events which start at 1.30pm, while the main regatta also takes place out on the Forth. The Boat Club opens its doors during the afternoon for excellent teas and home baking.
